# What are the rules for tanning?

## Tanning booths (available at participating gyms) are reserved for Extra members aged 18 and over. Guests sharing a membership card do not have access to the tanning service.

 

 

To manage traffic and ensure safety, the tanning area is only accessible during staffed hours ([check out schedules](https://econofitness.ca/en/gym)).

 

Here are some important rules to follow:

 

**Mandatory safety gear**

- Protective eyewear must be worn during every session.
- You can get them at a low cost from the vending machines located in our gyms.

 

**Duration and frequency**

- No reservation is required or accepted.
- Each session is limited to a maximum of 9 minutes.
- There’s no limit to the number of sessions, but you must follow safe usage guidelines.

 

**SMART rules**

- All users must follow the SMART tanning rules.
- These rules are posted near the booths and must be followed carefully.

 

**Equipment maintenance**

- Our booths are equipped with high-performance bulbs, replaced as soon as they start losing efficiency.
- Regular inspections are carried out by our technicians to ensure your safety.
